Preggi Bellies membership also provides telephone help for members,
allowing them access to support, advice and answers to any questions
they may have about their pregnancy or fitness training.
Preggi Bellies keeps a comprehensive health record for each member and
members receive expert instruction on how to continue their exercise
even if they are experiencing any number of biomechanical or musculoskeletal
problems common to pregnancy. Most of these problems can be easily
managed and the experienced instructors at Preggi Bellies will tailor
the program to each individual woman's changing needs.
RESEARCH
Preggi Bellies also leads the way
by being involved in the latest research and development into exercise
in pregnancy. This research has shown that women who are doing weight
bearing and cardiovascular exercise at least twice weekly have a
- 35% decrease in the need for pain relief during labour
- 75% decrease incidence of maternal exhaustion
- 50% decrease in the need to artificially rupture membranes or induce labour
- 50% decrease in intervention due abnormalities in fetal heart rate
- 55% decrease in the need for episiotomy
- 75% decrease in operative intervention
